He deals with all aspects of family law, including complex financial matters, high conflict custody and access disputes, and mobility cases. Harold has extensive trial experience and has been qualified as an expert in family law by the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. He has been appointed as a dispute resolution officer by the Family Law Division of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.

Setting standards in family law

A former instructor and lecturer for the Ontario Bar admission course, Harold has contributed to the Intensive Family Law and Trial Practice programs at Osgoode Hall Law School. He has published educational materials for both the Law Society of Ontario and the Canadian Bar Association and co-chaired the Six-Minute Family Law Lawyer and the Ten-Minute Family Law Judge.

Acknowledged author

Harold has written articles for several legal periodicals, served as an associate editor of the Reports of Family Law, and is the editor and co-author of a textbook, Evidence in Family Law. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a recipient of the Continuing Legal Education Long-Term Achievement Award from the Law Society of Ontario.
